If it's not your time, it's not your time. So I came home that night of September 15th, 2016, and I was gisting one of my cousin's about a dream house I saw at Jabi district of Abuja and how I hoped to rent it.
I went ahead to tell him how much I want to pack out of my present house and my description of how desperate I was goes as thus “My guy, that house walls just dey fall off, I no wan hear sey one day news go be Building Collapse In Abuja, One Injured”.
I came into the house, it was my cousin's place and there has been a leakage at the bathroom upstairs and it's been making the P.O.P ceiling from downstairs look like it had some cracks.
This particular night, I told another cousin of mine that I am not going to sleep under that part of the house incase it decides to collapse but heyyy, I didn't take to my own advice, I slept off under what could be considered as the riskiest part of the house.
At 2am, it was a reflex action, I woke up straight from dream land where I was already living in my dream house which I saw earlier at Jabi. The ceiling was falling off ontop of me and I jumped up and picked up my phone and laptop which I top were at risk of being destroyed by the collapse. I only looked at the whole situation in 'wonders'. Believe me, people have died by that, it could have been worse but here I am not being hurt except for the stain of the debris.
